We have a Pohutakawa tree (New Zealand Christmas bush) in our back yard. It came with us from our early days together. It's now quite large and has the prettiest flowers on it. We now have the pleasure of these Rainbows Lorikeets, they come to visit us each day, it's really nice to watch these cheeky birds in action.

  1. oh my word what a colourful bird, makes our little brown sparrows look very dull!

  2. wow, those Rainbows Lorikeets are amazing, I can honesty say I have never seen one before. they are beautiful, what lovely photo's thank you for sharing. x

  3. Amazing birds!!! It looks you're blessed to live in such a special little corner of the world!
I'm a bit overdue, anyway thank you for entering my giveaway, good luck!

  4. Beautiful birds, but a pest over here in WA, they are classed as feral as we did not original have them here and the small flock that escaped from an aviary is now huge and competing with our native parrots. They are soo noisy, but with those stunning colours you can forgive them for the noise.

    Great photos xxx

  5. Oh my word, what a beautiful tree and what a stunning bird!
I love that you have had the tree with you from your early days together, nice.

  6. Wow! We have that tree in our garden, too, but not that amazing bird!!! No such luck!!!
