Australia Day

Australia Day is on January 26 and commemorates the establishment of the of the first settlement at Port Jackson, now part of Sydney, in 1788. It is an opportunity for Australian to come together to celebrate their country and culture.

The main symbols of Australia Day is the national flag, with its representations of the Union Jack, the Commonwealth Star and the five stars of the Southern Cross.

It is an official public holiday in every state and territory of Australia. With community festivals, concerts and citizenship ceremonies, the day is celebrated in large and small communities across Australia.

We made our way down to Parramatta park first thing to see the Hot air balloons and join in the big breakfast.

For much of Australia history was founded on wool export.

I loved seeing the costumes to first settlers would have worn.

The end of the month is nearly here I hope you have been taking lots of photography for the Scavenger Hunt.  Made with love: Scavenger Hunt
