Burnt Orange

We celebrated my husbands and my brothers birthdays at Burnt Orange on saturday. It is a upmarket cafe dining set in a Federation mansion. The cafe started its life as a golf clubhouse in the 1920s, before being converted into army barracks.

We sat on the huge wrap around verandah with stunning view over Sydney Harbour looking towards the heads and the eastern suburbs as we ate our delicious lunch.

It also contains two floors of retail, including homewards and gifts.

Once you have finished browsing, you can have breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. We finished off our lunch with a taste of there selection of cakes.

It was such a lovely way to spend a warm spring day.

  11. Happy birthday to the birthday guys! It's so funny to read about your warm spring day, when we are in fall heading into winter. When I was little I used to wonder if the people in Australia were upside down, hanging from the bottom of the Earth! Lots more warm spring days to you!

  13. Hi there- It was so nice of you to write on my blog- we are so happy to have little Maggie back. I am glad it led me to your blog....I was going to bake some cupcakes to take to a friend who just had a baby boy and I saw your pic of the little biscuits shaped and decorated like baby onesies!! They are so cute, I am going to have a go at baking something like that instead. My little sister has lived and worked in Sydney for the last 6 years- I will suggest 'Burnt Orange' to her the next time we Skype xxx!
