We braved the wet, windy weather and set off to see the tall ships come into Sydney Harbour , under sodden skies we tried to find shelter under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with no luck we were wet and chilled to the bone. The celebrations were to mark a 100 years since the Royal Australian Navy fleet first entered waterways.
A flotilla of 16 tall ship entered our waterways, with around 40 war ships from 19 countries, there will also be 60 aircraft, 10 military bands and more then 1000 sailors the next day.
Such a great event to wittiness, but we couldn't wait to get home and get warm.
That looks like a very interesting event to watch. I really like to look at boats and ships, but I haven't been on many. Sydney is one place I really hope to visit someday. Thanks for sharing. :)

ReplyDeleteThat looks an amazing sight despite the weather! We had the Tall Ship Race in Weymouth in 1994 and it was fantastic seeing so many of the tall ships sailing altogether.
