The theme for this months Creative Cookie Exchange is white chocolate, I had the white chocolate in the pantry and cream cheese in the fridge so I came up with these cookies. They taste really good and it's hard to stop at one.
185 gm (3/4 cup) butter, room temperature
85 gm (3 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups plain (All-purpose) flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup crushed Oreo’s
3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Directions: Preheat oven to 175C (350 degrees F). Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Cream the butter, cream cheese and sugar together in the bowl of an electric mixer. Add in the egg yolk and vanilla. Mix until combined. Slowly add in the flour and salt until just combined. Fold in the crushed ore’s and white chocolate chips.
Scoop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared cookie sheets. Gently press down with the back of a spoon to flatten a bit. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are slightly golden.
Let cool at least 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy.
