Plum Jam

Plums were $1.99 kg at the markets so with keeping whats in season I decided to make plum jam. I now have enough to last a year.

Plum Jam
2kg plums, quartered, and stones removed
1L (4 cups) water
80ml (1/3 cup) lemon juice
1.35kg (6 cups) sugar
Method
Place plums and water in a large saucepan and bring to the boil, reduce to medium and simmer, uncovered for 1 hour.
Add lemon juice and sugar to the pan and stir, without boiling, until sugar dissolved. Increase heat and bring to the boil, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 25-45 mins or until jam sets.
Ladle jam immediately into clean jars.
Enjoy

  3. The jars filled with plum jam are looking so delicious. In our place, plum has not arrived in the market yet but as soon as the fruit arrives, I am going to make the jam according to your instructions. I love eating plum but I have not made plum jam yet.
Thank you for the recipe and take care,
