Weekend markets

It's huge, but it can be hot, sweaty, and clammy and remember to bring along your bartering skills with a smile. Markets are where you can sample real local life, it's all laid bare for all to see. I've always loved markets they are such lively places.

You can find fresh markets all over Phuket some daily some on selected days only, but one of the biggest is the weekend market.

It is open on Saturday and Sundays from 4.30 to 10pm. You can buy all most anything from sunglasses, watches, tea shirts, DVDs, fluffy toy to hand guns that look so real that they scare you.

The weekend market is not really for buying fresh food, but there are stalls selling fruits and loads of snack stalls for buying spicy snacks, noodles and deserts and all kinds of drinks.

This is the place that we have had the best meals on our holiday to Thailand.
