Lunch Out

We had a lovely anniversary lunch sitting out side in the warm winter sunshine. We end up at a Lebanese restaurant not to far from home, enjoying each others company and food.    

Victoria Markets

Day two we headed off to Queen Victoria Market in with our dear friend Ness.It is Victoria's premier open-air market. It's a thriving and vital place pulsating with life.

The friendly competition between stallholders, and their concern for customers, is what gives the Market its' Old World charm and the addictive power to draw millions of visitors each year.

The vibrant, cosmopolitan atmosphere of this historic site has endeared the Market to Melburnians for 130 years. The Market is probably best known for its huge variety of fresh produce and it's historic meat hall.

Cabramatta

We spent today in Cabramatta, it is the known as the Sydney's culinary united nations. It is predominantly Vietnamese, there was a hive of activity all around from the pho establishments to the super cheap fresh produce shops selling so many different things that you have no idea what to do with.
 

There were so many drinks to choose from fresh sugar cane to bubble drinks.

 In the end it was time to come home with tired feet, full tummies and bags full of great looking food.

Moo Burgers

I had read about Moo Gourmet Burgers at Manly and knew the next time I was in Manly we would have to go and try Moo out. I knew it was up stairs and had to look out for it, but there was a little roped off section that lead  up to Moo. Moo has two floors and a lovely view from the balconies.

We ordered the Classic Beef Burger,  Beef Avocado & Bacon Burger, and the Little Cow which came with the best Chocolate Milkshake and a mini Chocolate ice cream. The burgers were so juicy that the juice was dripping down our chins. And the chips are so awesome, the crispy shell giving way to the fluffy potato inside.

Mr P and Master M managed to finished their meal, I gave the last mouthful to of mine Mr P. We had no dinner as we were still full from our delicious lunch.

Gifts

These are some of the gifts that I made for friends, neighbors, teachers, swim coach and the Mr P's work mates. I hope they enjoy them. 3 more sleeps till the big man comes, very excited at our house. How about yours?

Making Whoopie

I made some whoopie pies with crushed up candy canes, for the boys when they come for there sleep over this week. Well mum had a great idea, and Master M and I will pitch the tent in the back garden for them. Hope they get some sleep.

Burnt Orange

This afternoon we headed to Mosman to have afternoon tea with great friends of ours. We all met at Burnt Orange, a cafe that used to be a golf club in the 1930's. It has wrap around verandahs with views over the harbour. We enjoyed a high tea with a wide selection of tasty treats for us to savour. A perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Lemon Brownies

I found this recipe on the lovely blog ( from beyond my kitchen window ) I don't know how to do links from my I pad but you can find it in my blog list. I made this today it was very easy to make and is so moist and yummy.

11/2 cups sugar
114gm butter
1tsp salt
4 eggs
11/2 cups P flour
Juice from one lemon
--------
1 cup icing sugar
Juice from a lemon

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time. Add salt, flour,lemon juice stir through till combined.

Poor into a 9x13inch lined tin.
Cook at 180 c for 30 mins

Mix icing sugar with lemon juice poor over cooled slice
Enjoy

Party Time

The lolly bags were brown paper bags with a cut out of a skater boy.

Shortbread biscuits as a little gift, all the mums got one also to have with a coffee after the party.

Well Master M had his 10th birthday party, we held it at a local skate park and thank goodness the rain stayed away. We had a pro-scooter rider come in for a hour to teach the kids some tricks they all had fun with only two stacks. We ordered pizza in and i made some party food, all the children we so good it made for such a fun day.
